Day at the Dam.

We spent the day at Inanda Dam this past Sunday, Dane bought a jetski not too long ago and so we all gave it a shot. What an entertaining day it turned out to be! There was quite a crowd (which proved to be quite an audience as well!), the Tem's were there, all of the Milnes, Kayley and Byron, Dane and Kris of course, Bev came with lil Blayze, Jared Temlett (uncle Mel's nephew on his side) was there with his girlfriend, Leeanne, and then a bunch of Dane's friends who brought their jetski's as well. I didn't get pics of everyone, not even one of me, but i did get some cute ones! This blue ski isn't Dane's one, its his friends - but was much easier for Dev to ride as Dane's is a "stand up" one - as in once you're going fast enough, you can stand up and the handle bars lift... Not as easy as it may sound. I stood up briefly, but wiped out so many times and could barely walk the next day - its hard work! You come out the water huffing and puffing! But such fun!

I have a few videos that'll make you laugh - i only uploaded one, I'm not sure if it works - if it does I'll add the rest!

Unlikely superhero

Kuen went to a 21st the other night, themed "unlikely superheroes", he had a "Mr Bean" vibe going on. This is totally random, but i thought you'd enjoy the pics!

So he claims..... ;)

Two thousand and ten

Mention "2010" to any South African and before anything else, the Soccer World Cup is at the forefront of every mind, its like we've named the World Cup "2010". I've had the priviledge of watching the Moses Mabida Stadium, in Durban, slowly take form and it is magnificent. It absolutely meets any International Standard and i am so proud of it, so proud of my country, and so excited for this year. There are a number of different stadia that have been erected throughout the country, that will be filled with screaming fans from all over the globe and only the greatest players in the world. Our airports have been "renovated" and in Durbs we have a new one being built, an International Airport and they will be a confident, friendly and warm welcome to all those flocking to our shores for the first time.

So yes, i have had my doubts as to how South Africa, a third world country, would pull this off. We're still building our nation and overcoming our past. I know of a multitude of families that have immigrated, SA leaving a bad taste in their mouth, and i can't say i've never entertained the same idea. But this year, call it a new years resolution or a new years revelation, but my confidence in my country is restored, and 2010 is the year of positivity, its the year of possibility and i truly believe the year of prosperity for my country. My country will blow your mind, it has beauty beyond compare, its not without its flaws, but its assets far out-weigh them. If there has ever been an opportunity to bring this nation closer together, it would be now.

My heart is buried in the white, warm sands of its gorgeous coastline. Though my thirst to see and experience the world is yet to be quenched, there is no where else I'd rather be this year.

Dev asked me the other day whether I'd made New Years resolutions, and i truly had not even thought about it. So maybe thats a good sign, that there isn't anything that i'm waiting for the new year for an excuse to change, I am so gratefully aware of my priviledged situation. I know that my Heavenly Father dances over my country, and its people, and over me. So i hope i never stop dancing throughout 2010, for Him and for my country.

Let that be my resolution.

Christmas '09

Us, the Temletts, Gumpie and Aunty Wendy and my Grandpa headed down the South Coast for Christmas this year. We stayed at a cottage literally on the beach and totally chilled out - just what we all needed! We were all there for about a week before we went our separate ways for New Years. Ku took the long road to Plettenberg Bay in the Cape with a bunch of friends from church, and I went to the Drakensberg with some school friends. The rest saw the New Year in back up in Hillcrest. Why i didn't take pics in the Berg, i cannot fathom, but here are a few from the beach - just a few!

To all my family far and wide, if only we could spend Christmas all together, we missed you desperatly and i hope that 2010 is an awesome year!
